over the past few weeks, a few friends in arizona have had house parties to share the story of "sew rwanda" and to sell the products that the women have been making. the response has been amazing. this is the video that we showed to introduce rwanda and to introduce the women that are in our group.
the project is already making a huge impact in the women's lives.
at 1:20 in the video, you see a house with a rock floor. that is donata's house. with the money that she has made from the project, she has been able to put concrete in almost all of the rooms. that is a great blessing to her, especially since her family doesn't have a mattress to sleep on! madalina has rented a small plot of land in order to be able to grow her own food for her family. solange has been able to buy milk for her twins and they are growing stronger every day. they have all said that they are excited to have their own businesses and are excited to be able to send their children to school. a few have also told us that they want to teach their children how to sew too, so that they can have their own businesses in the future as well.

in other news...please be praying for isaac. he has been sick for a few weeks and we can't figure out what is going on. all the tests have been inconclusive. we have him home from school this weekend (he is usually boarding), to try to figure it out.
this is so beautiful. found myself crying.
ReplyDeletePlease tell Isaac that we are praying for him. Let us know if you find out what is causing his illness. Give him a hug for us. Love you, Mom
